Delete your Tuck account

Last updated: 2026-08-12

This page is about the Tuck app for Android, made by Tarahbi Apps. Everyone gets an account the first time they open Tuck: either a Google account, or a guest account. This page is about deleting the Google one, which is the only kind that holds anything about you.

A guest account is different. It holds one thing, an identifier generated by Firebase, and no name, no email address and no picture. It exists only on the phone that created it, cannot be signed into anywhere else, and is not connected to anything we could look you up by. Uninstalling Tuck leaves it behind with nothing in it. If you would rather have a real account you can delete, sign in with Google from Settings and the option below appears.

From inside the app

This is the quickest way and it takes effect immediately.

  1. Open Tuck and go to Settings.
  2. Tap the account row at the top of the screen.
  3. Scroll to the bottom and choose Delete account.
  4. Read what will happen, then type DELETE in the box to confirm. The button stays greyed out until you do, so nobody deletes an account by mistake.
  5. Tap Delete my account. You will be asked to sign in once more first, which is how we check it is really you.

If you have already uninstalled the app

Email o.tarahbi@gmail.com from the address you signed in with, and ask us to delete your Tuck account. We will action it and reply to confirm when it is done. We aim to do this within 30 days and usually much sooner.

What gets deleted

  • Your name, email address, profile picture and account identifier.
  • Every pot you own, and everything inside it, removed from the cloud.
  • Your membership of any pot you had joined, so you disappear from its member list.

What stays, and why

Your budget stays on your phone. Envelopes, balances and history live in a database on the device and were never ours to delete. The app keeps working exactly as it did.

Pots owned by other people keep working for them. You are removed from them, but their copy is theirs.

Transactions you added to someone else's shared pot remain, along with the account identifier attached to them. Everyone's balances in that pot are calculated by replaying those transactions, so removing them would silently change what the other members see in their own budget. Your name, email and picture are removed.

Your subscription

Deleting your account does not cancel a Tuck Plus subscription, because that billing relationship is between you and Google. Cancel it in the Google Play app under Payments and subscriptions, or in Tuck under Settings, Tuck Plus, Manage in Google Play.
